Me, Anjani and Rhiannon wanted to decrease the amount of bullying at this school, so we decided to write down a list of ideas to do so. We eventually chose to create a short film. The short film was simply called "Stop Bullying". First, we made a plan. We created characters and the problem, solution etc. Then we got to work on the script. We had to think about the scenes, and keep in mind they all has to be filmed in school, and thought about the places to film in. After that came the casting. Anjani volunteered to keep editing the script while Rhiannon and I looked for actors. We already had an actor for the main character, (Anjani) but we needed heaps more. We got eight people, which was exactly the amount we wanted, then we came the hardest part...filming. The actors often had trouble remembering their lines, or sometimes someone would speak at the wrong time, or Anjani would randomly start laughing at nothing in particular. After about twelve takes, we finally had the first scene done. It went the same for most of the other scenes to. After the filming, I captioned the movie incase people had trouble hearing us. Rhiannon cropped out mistakes from the scenes, and Anjani put them all together. I think we worked well together and delegated the roles well. The movie turned out great.

Immersion (Energy)

What I Learnt About Energy During immersion this term we're focusing on energy. I learnt lots of things I didn't know before, like how there is more than one type of energy, and everything contains energy even if it never moves or isn't moving. The different types of energies are: Potential/stored, kinetic, chemical, gravitational. There's also more, but we did not talk about them.  Another thing I learnt is how even when something is not moving, there's still energy moving in it. Even a rock has energy. A rock is always sitting still, so it contains gravitational energy pulling down. If a rock was sitting on a hill doing nothing it would have potentail  energy. if it  rolled  down a hill, the energy would be converted to useful energy.

Book Review

The Bone Sparrow Book Review The bone sparrow is a realistic fiction book set in an Australian refugee camp, full of refugees from  Rohingya. The main character is a nine year old boy name Subhi, who lives in the refugee camp with his mother and fifteen year old sister. They don't know if his dad is alive or not, but they believe hes coming to save them. They live under very harsh treatment and most people die by suicide, starvation or heat stroke. This book is very descriptive and detailed, so some people may find it disturbing. It has a lot of blood and and stuff like that, it is NOT recommended for sensitive people, or people who hate sad stuff. I would say you have to be at least eleven or twelve to read this and understand it. If you love crying, sadness, don't mind disgusting detailed stuff and violence and taking awareness to situations like that this is definitely the book for you!

Immersion Projects  Last week, (Term three, week five,) we started Immersion. For this terms immersion, we were doing projects, and our projects were about issues within the school. I decided to go in the group to stop bullying the animals because I think its really sad and just plain stupid of how most people treat all the animals that come to this school. Since our group was so big, we split off into smaller groups of five. Jorja, Brianna, Anesu, Madeline and I were in a group. First we had to come up with a how might we, then find the main reasons this should be stopped, like the animals can die of fright, Their being forced to find other places to live, etc. Then we had to find possible solutions. So far we have come up with: A speech, a movie, writing a book, doing a play, making a "duck area" Although were not really sure what that would be, and making posters which is one of my favorites because I think they bring awareness and I love designing!
